The increase in respiratory disease incidence observed in recent decades is associated with a combination of risk factors, including environmental pollution, smoking, inhalation of dust, smoke, and chemicals in production, exposure to infectious pathogens, genetic predisposition, and immune system dysregulation. Bronchial obstructive syndrome (BOS) is observed in many bronchopulmonary diseases. The most common of these are acute respiratory viral infections, acute bronchitis, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and bronchial asthma (BA). Approaches to treating BOS vary significantly depending on the underlying condition. This article examines key diagnostic issues and approaches to pharmacotherapy for bronchial asthma and COPD, the main conditions associated with BOS, in clinical practice. |
